American Beauty Academy and Salon Policies

1. Admissions Policy

American Beauty Academy and Salon welcomes students of all backgrounds who meet our eligibility criteria. To enroll in our courses:

  • Applicants must be at least 16 years old (unless otherwise specified).

  • Applicants must provide valid identification and any required qualifications.

  • Applications are accepted via our website, email, or in person. A deposit is required to secure your place.

2. Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Policy

We are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all students, staff, and clients. Discrimination or harassment based on gender, age, disability, race, religion, or any other protected characteristic will not be tolerated.

We actively promote equal opportunities and celebrate diversity within our academy and salon.

3. Health and Safety Policy

The safety and well-being of our students, staff, and clients are paramount. Our policies include:

  • Regular risk assessments of all facilities and equipment.

  • Compliance with health and safety legislation.

  • Availability of first aid and clearly marked emergency exits.

In case of emergencies, contact our front desk staff or the designated health and safety officer.

4. Complaints and Grievance Policy

We value feedback and aim to resolve complaints promptly. If you have a concern:

  1. Speak to your instructor or a member of staff.

  2. If unresolved, submit a written complaint to abacork@gmail.com.

  3. Expect a response within 5 business days, with a resolution within 14 days where possible.

5. Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy

We are committed to safeguarding all students, including minors and vulnerable adults. All staff undergo thorough background checks. Any concerns regarding safety or well-being should be reported immediately to our safeguarding officer.

6. Attendance and Punctuality Policy

Regular attendance is essential for successful course completion.

  • Students are expected to attend all scheduled sessions.

  • Absences must be reported 24 hours in advance.

  • Persistent unexcused absences may result in dismissal from the course.

7. Code of Conduct

Students and staff are expected to maintain professionalism, including:

  • Respectful behavior towards all individuals.

  • Adherence to the dress code (where applicable).

  • Prohibition of disruptive behavior or misuse of academy property.

Failure to follow the code of conduct may result in disciplinary action.

8. Assessment and Appeals Policy

Assessments are conducted fairly and in accordance with VTCT standards.

  • Students have the right to appeal assessment decisions by submitting a written appeal within 7 days of receiving results.

  • Appeals are reviewed by an independent assessor.

9. Refund and Cancellation Policy

Deposits are non-refundable. Refunds for cancellations will only be issued under the following conditions:

  • Written cancellation is received at least 14 days before the course start date.

  • Refunds are not issued for non-attendance or partial course completion.

10. Privacy and Data Protection Policy

We comply with GDPR regulations to protect your personal information. Data collected is used solely for course administration and communication purposes. For more details, read our full privacy policy on www.americanbeauty.ie.

11. Plagiarism and Academic Integrity Policy

Students must complete their own work and credit all sources. Plagiarism or academic dishonesty will result in disciplinary action and may affect certification.

12. Learning Support Policy

We strive to support students with special educational needs or disabilities. Please inform us during the admissions process so we can provide reasonable accommodations.

13. Environmental Policy

We are committed to sustainability by:

  • Reducing waste and promoting recycling.

  • Using energy-efficient equipment.

14. Social Media and Online Safety Policy

Students and staff must represent the academy professionally online. Posting disrespectful or damaging content is strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary action.

15. Communicable Disease Policy

We follow health guidelines to ensure the safety of all individuals. Students and staff are required to:

  • Inform us of any contagious illnesses.

  • Adhere to hygiene protocols, including frequent handwashing and sanitizing.
